This is where we are in college education now. Students using AI to fully write their class work and not even taking steps to hide it in their submissions. Look at this discussion post from a student. As if the fact that their post looked almost identical to 90% of the other student’s posts, and every other sentence ahd an em-dash sentence break (a common AI text tool) they aren’t even trying to hide that they used ChatGPT by editing the URL provided in their chats.

Have I never used AI? No. I do ask it to review for errors and ensure my formatting for APA sources is correct. Not to write everything for me though. Call me old fashioned but that used to be called plagiarism.
Today I had a weekly open book quiz to complete for a scientific research methods class this week. After I completed it, I decided to see if AI would have done better. I got 9 out of 10 correct as an open book quiz. ChatGPT and Gemini got 6 of 10 right, Claude AI got 7 of 10, and Deepseek got 8 of 10. This is BAD. AI is not replacing human intelligence. It draws from available sources which are sadly wrong quite often. Go ahead, find some online quizzes and see how many it gets right and doesn’t.
I even saw a video about using chatGPT to write a paper, then feed it to Claude to rewrite, and then Gemini to finalize it, all to pass AI checks for their class work. That’s 3 different LLM’s that are wrong up to 40% of the time rewriting the same paper.
This is NOT good for the world, and definitely not for education.
We have about 1 more year before the first chatGPT college students start graduating. From there, we will become more progressively dumb each year.
That’s my opinion and does not reflect the opinions of AI chatbots.
