Let’s talk about cryptocurrency

Yeah, you read that right. I’m one of the many few leftist cryptocurrency advocates. Trust me though, I’m not a moonboy, an “influencer,” or a maximalist by any means. Certainly not (too) annoying about it. I just love the idea and prospects that helped originally create Bitcoin and it’s predecessors.

The earliest serious digital currency that really set the standard was call eCash in 1990. It was minted by a company called Digicash, and actually received an offer to integrate into Windows 95. The founder refused to allow eCash to become centralized, so he walked away from millions of those Microsoft dollars and was bankrupt by 1998.

Cryptocurrency gives you control over your own money. There is no bank that can withhold it from you. There is no way it can be stolen if you hold your own keys. It’s a perfect replacement for dollars if used properly. You can send it to anyone in a couple minutes or less anywhere in the world that has an internet connection. You can get paid your way through any defi protocol. The only flaw is the price volatility of the coins today.

Like I said, I’m not a moonboy or an influencer. I just wanted to make an early post for the site about crypto. It’s not what you think one you get past all the hype. Just be smart about what you buy and hold onto long term so you don’t lose your money completely.
